XCR Airport (formerly Vatry Airport) is taking part in the inaugural 2D X‑Ray Imaging Challenge 2025–2026, aimed at enhancing the skills of security officers in analyzing X‑ray images.
XCR Airport announced its participation in the 2D X‑Ray Imaging Challenge 2025–2026, a French‑speaking competition bringing together around twenty airports with the shared goal of improving the effectiveness of security checks at carry‑on baggage screening points.
The event, organized by the Challenge Imaging Organizing Committee (COCI), includes an initial online round on 10 December 2025 and a final phase from 9 to 13 March 2026 at Paris – Charles de Gaulle Airport, where the top-ranked teams will compete in person.
The competition is based on exercises in analyzing X‑ray images using the LOGYX Detect software. Participating officers must quickly determine whether a bag is clear or suspicious and accurately locate and identify categories of threats — weapons, liquids, explosives, or sharp objects — under strict time constraints.
For this first edition, XCR Airport has partnered with its security provider SECURUS to form a dedicated team of officers representing the airport in the challenge. The aim is both to strengthen individual operator skills and to contribute to the standardization of best practices among participating airports.
This initiative is part of XCR Airport’s proactive approach to airport security, designed to provide passengers with a safer and more controlled travel environment, while highlighting the expertise and responsiveness of its teams in the face of potential threats. XCR Airport continues to demonstrate its commitment to secure and reliable airport screening, benefiting travelers and partners alike.
